Cricinfo made a call that annoyed a lot of live-score hunters. On the day England and Sri Lanka were set for a third and deciding men’s ODI at Headingley, the Cricinfo homepage led with a human interest feature instead of the marquee fixture. The story was Ivonne Vildosola, 70, a Chilean grandmother making T20I history for Chile. That choice is the whole story.
It was a deliberate editorial bet.
