Speculation about GTA 6 on Switch 2 has intensified since the console launch.
Hot tracking Grand Theft Auto remains focused on one question: will Rockstar bring GTA 6 to Switch 2. Pritchard is deflecting.
1. The GTA 6 Switch 2 Question That Won’t Go Away
Fan demand for Grand Theft Auto on Switch 2 grew after the console launch. The topic escalated in October 2026.
A Variety interview with Devon Pritchard was published on October 9 2026. It covered the Legend of Zelda movie, GTA 6 on Nintendo Switch 2, and third-party game goals.

2. What Devon Pritchard Actually Said About GTA 6
Pritchard discussed her first year as Nintendo of America President. She talked about the Zelda live-action movie.
On GTA 6 for Switch 2, she declined to confirm or deny support. She passed the question to Rockstar. The phrasing was a direct deflection.
She did not comment on timing, technical feasibility, or rating policy.
3. Nintendo’s Official Content Strategy for Switch 2
GoNintendo reported on October 9 2026 that Nintendo wants Switch 2 to provide a diversity of content for ages 5 to 95.
The family-friendly positioning creates tension with mature rated titles like Grand Theft Auto. Nintendo is pursuing third-party partnerships.
The goal is broad content breadth, not genre exclusivity.
4. Why Nintendo Is Leaving the Decision to Rockstar
Nintendo controls hardware and curation. Rockstar controls the Grand Theft Auto IP and rating.
Historical precedent shows limited GTA releases on Nintendo platforms. Technical and performance considerations for Switch 2 remain unconfirmed.
Rating and content policy is a clash point. Nintendo is not blocking, but it is not advocating.
5. Core Pain Points for Fans and Developers
Uncertainty and information vacuum fuel speculation fatigue. No official denial exists.
Concern persists that the ages 5 to 95 diversity mandate will limit mature third-party blockbusters.
Players want parity with PS5 and Xbox Series X. Fear of a delayed or downgraded Switch 2 port remains.
6. What Comes Next for GTA 6 and Nintendo
A Rockstar announcement is the only trigger for confirmation. Nintendo Directs are the likely channel for Nintendo-side news.
The Zelda movie news is overshadowing GTA 6 discussion in current coverage.
A Switch 2 version would boost Nintendo’s third-party credibility. It would also test content policy boundaries.
