Will Forte finally gets to own the film he fought for. After a year of Warner Bros shelving drama, lawsuits and fan campaigns, Coyote vs. Acme is actually coming home. If you want Will Forte as Wile E. Coyote in 4K or on your streamer of choice, the window is now open.
Short version: digital is live, disc is shipping.
The Backstory: Why Coyote vs Acme Was Shelved and Saved
Warner Bros Discovery greenlit the Looney Tunes live-action hybrid, finished it, then pulled it from the 2023 slate for a tax write-off. Fans revolted. Will Forte’s performance as the put-upon coyote, voiced with deadpan desperation, became the center of the outcry. Ketchup Entertainment bought the rights in 2024 and gave the film a theatrical life in 2025.
That saga is why home release info was so messy. Different regions had different deals. Streaming windows shifted. The physical media demand never died.
Core Fan Pain Points: Release Confusion, Streaming Access, and Physical Media Demand
People kept asking three things: when can I watch Coyote vs Acme at home, is there a 4K Blu-ray, and will Will Forte’s version be censored or cut. The answer is no cuts, yes to 4K, and yes to streaming, but the platforms vary by country.
Collectors wanted the Steelbook. Streamers wanted Max. Everyone wanted a straight answer.
Official Home Release Date Confirmed
The home rollout is staggered but confirmed. Digital first, disc second.

The Warner Bros Saga: Meep Meep Wile E. Coyote Dodged Warner’s Anvil to Deliver Box Office Dynamite
That headline is not hyperbole. The film dodged a tax write-off anvil and landed a theatrical release. Will Forte’s commitment kept the character human. The box office was modest but the cultural win was huge.
It proved fan pressure can move a studio. It also proved physical media fans will pay for a story.

Will Forte Performance and Cast Highlights
Will Forte voices and motion-captures Wile E. Coyote with a weary, working-class anger that makes the cartoon tragedy land. John Cena plays Acme exec, Lana Condor is the lawyer. The chemistry works because Forte never winks.
His performance is the reason people rewatch.
Final Verdict: Is the Home Release Worth Watching
Yes if you care about animation history or Will Forte. The 4K transfer is sharp. The Steelbook is worth it for the art alone. Digital buy is fine for convenience.
Buy the disc if you want the bonus doc about the shelving. Stream it if you just want a funny, slightly sad Looney Tunes movie tonight.
Action plan: check Max first. If you don’t have it, buy on Prime Video for the best price. Want to own forever, grab the Steelbook before it sells out again.
