Xbox Game Pass in the first week of October 2026 is heavy on Day One launches. Microsoft is pushing a prequel, a racing revival and a horror title all at once, while bringing back a full JRPG collection that was missing for years. The window October 5 to 9 covers console, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. If you only have time for one check, this is it.
Next Week on Xbox October 5-9 2026 At A Glance
Xbox Wire confirmed the October 5 to 9 batch on October 2. The headline is Gears of War: E-Day going live Day One on Xbox Game Pass. It is joined by Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Hellraiser: Revival as Day One additions. Kingdom Hearts Collection returns to the catalog mid-week.

Day One Xbox Game Pass Titles Confirmed for October 6-8
Pure Xbox confirmed three Day One Xbox Game Pass titles for October 6-8. All three are live across Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass where available. Standard Game Pass for Console gets the same access.
Gears of War E-Day – Emergence Day prequel story, Horde Mode and 4v4 Versus launch details
Gears of War: E-Day is the Emergence Day prequel. It stars Marcus and Dominic in a darker, more personal story set at the start of the Locust War. The game launches Day One on Xbox Game Pass with Horde Mode and 4v4 Versus included at launch.
Horde maps are larger than previous entries. 4v4 Versus brings ranked and social matches with modernized movement. Day One access on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate means no separate purchase is required for console, PC or cloud. If you own Xbox Series X|S, expect the best performance target.
Star Wars Galactic Racer – release date and Game Pass availability
Star Wars: Galactic Racer lands October 7 as a Day One Xbox Game Pass title. It is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The game is a podracing-focused arcade racer. No premium tier needed. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get it immediately.
Hellraiser Revival – release date and Game Pass availability
Hellraiser: Revival arrives October 8 Day One on Xbox Game Pass. Launch platforms are Xbox Series X|S and PC. Cloud support is not confirmed at launch. It is a narrative horror title built around the Hellraiser universe. Check the Game Pass app on release day for the exact unlock time in your region.
Kingdom Hearts Collection Returns to Xbox Game Pass
Kingdom Hearts Collection is back on Xbox Game Pass starting October 6. This is a return, not a new Day One launch. The collection was previously removed and its comeback is the biggest catalog win of the week for JRPG fans.
Full collection contents and platforms
The Xbox version bundles the core HD remasters. Expect Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue under one listing. Platforms are Xbox Series X|S and PC via Xbox app. Cloud streaming is not enabled for the collection at this time.
Why the return matters for Game Pass subscribers
Kingdom Hearts has been a perennial request. Its return adds ~100+ hours of content to Xbox Game Pass with no extra cost. For subscribers who missed it the first time, this is the cheapest way to play the saga legally on Xbox. It also signals Microsoft is reinvesting in legacy third-party catalog deals.
Other New Additions October 5-9
Beyond the four headliners, Xbox Wire notes additional catalog updates in the October 5 to 9 window. The focus remains on the Day One trio and Kingdom Hearts. No other major first-party launches are scheduled this week.
Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass in October 2026
Microsoft has not published a confirmed leaving list specifically for October 5-9. The standard Xbox Game Pass departures are announced mid-month. If you are playing something from the current catalog, check the Game Pass app now and set a reminder. Leaving titles are usually removed on the last day of the month.
How to Play Day One Releases on Console, PC and Cloud Gaming
On Xbox Series X|S, open the Game Pass tab and install. On PC, use the Xbox app for Windows. For cloud, open Xbox Cloud Gaming via browser or the Xbox app on supported devices. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is required for cloud play. Console and PC Game Pass members get the games without cloud.
