NPR broke the news on October 6, 2026, and the internet did what it does with Murray Hill: it tried to figure him out again. The announcement of Showbiz! lands right in the middle of the tension that has defined his career for two decades, authenticity versus performance, and whether a suit can ever be a confession. If you have spent years watching his confused drag king persona on stage, in stand-up clubs, and as the deadpan heart of Somebody Somewhere, you probably have the same three questions. Who is Murray Hill really? What is the truth behind the drag king act? And what does he actually know about the backstage of New York showbiz after twenty years of grinding.
He answers. Directly.
