Team News and Injury Updates
Sounders get good news on injury front: Jordan Morris expected to return
Jordan Morris is expected to be available after missing the last two weeks with a hamstring issue. His return gives Seattle a vertical threat and a link between midfield and attack. The medical staff listed him as probable in the final training report.
That changes the game plan.
Real Salt Lake injury list and suspensions
RSL is thin at center back. Defender Justen Glad is out with a calf strain. Midfielder Jasper Löffelsend is questionable with a knock. No suspensions are active for this real salt lake – seattle sounders trip.
Projected starting XI and depth chart
Seattle likely starts with Stefan Frei in goal, a back three with Nouhou, Yeimar, and Jackson Ragen, and Morris leading the line alongside Pedro de la Vega. RSL will rely on a 4-2-3-1 with Sergi Solans as the central creator.
Why Sergi Solans is RSL’s biggest danger man
Sergi Solans season stats and goal contributions
Solans has 7 goals and 4 assists in 24 MLS appearances in 2026. He leads RSL in shot creation and progressive carries. xG per 90 is 0.48. He is the only RSL player averaging over 2.5 key passes per game.
Key strengths: pace, pressing, and transition play
He thrives in transition. Solans runs the channels, presses high, and wins second balls. His first touch under pressure is clean. Defenders hate tracking him for 90 minutes.
Seattle must cut his supply line from the midfield or he will hurt you.
How Seattle can defend against Solans
Double team the half spaces. Force him wide. Do not give him a free run at the back line. Nouhou needs help when RSL switches play. Discipline is everything.
